A Maizey Agentic Chat App enables you to build a conversational app that can answer questions using your project data sources and complete supported tasks by securely connecting to supported services such as Google Workspace, Canvas, Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, and MCommunity via M-Connectors.
Project Admins control whether connectors are enabled for an app. App users can only interact with connectors for the services they're approved to access.
Maizey Agentic Chat Apps can also function identically to a Legacy Chat App when connectors are disabled, which is why it’s recommended for most new conversational Maizey experiences.

- Combine project data with current or user-specific information
- Prepare content using connected information
- Complete supported actions after reviewing and approving them

How Maizey Agentic Chat Apps Work
- Log into U-M Maizey and Create a Project (Your Data Layer)
A project is where you:- Connect and manage your data sources
- Configure access and permissions
- Maintain your dataset over time
- Create the Agentic Chat App.
- Set who can access your app: Project Admins only or users in an MCommunity group
- Define the agent’s role, scope, rules and when it should call available tools
- Optionally, enable File Upload
- Configure the App
- Connect to project data sources
- Add connectors available to app users
- Test the App and share with users
Eligibility
U-M faculty, staff, and students (including all three campuses and Michigan Medicine) with a valid, authorized Shortcode are eligible to create an Agentic Chat App in U-M Maizey.
Cost
Maizey Agentic Chat Apps are available at no cost through June 30, 2027. ITS reserves the right to discontinue or bill Maizey usage should we identify abuse. See our Pricing page for more information.
