How to effectively prompt Go Blue

To effectively prompt Go Blue, consider the following strategies:

  • Be Clear and Specific: By being clear and specific in your prompts, Go Blue can provide more accurate and helpful information. Avoid ambiguity by clearly defining your question to ensure Maizey understands.
  • Request Detail: If you need in-depth information, ask for detailed answers. For example, "Can you provide a detailed overview of the requirements and process for starting a new student organization at the University of Michigan, including any available resources and support from the university?"
  • Frame Your Context: Provide background information if your question is based on prior knowledge. This helps Go Blue generate relevant responses. For example, "Based on the recent updates to meal plans, what are the most economical dining options for students living on North Campus?"
  • Use Specific Formats: Indicate the response format you need, such as a list, summary, or comparison. For example, "List the key differences between the Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering in terms of student resources and career support."
  • Experiment with Iterative Questions: Break down complex queries into a series of smaller questions to guide Go Blue through a logical sequence, leading to more accurate and comprehensive answers. For example, by asking "What student clubs are focused on environmental sustainability?" Then ask a follow-up question such as, "How can I join one of these clubs?"
