U-M WiFi networks allow campus and guests to connect wireless devices to the internet and to U-M networks. There are four WiFi networks on the Ann Arbor and Dearborn campuses. Get Connected explains how to join them.
- MWireless
Students, faculty, alumni, sponsored affiliates, and staff with a valid U-M email address and password should use MWireless when on campus because it is secure and encrypted. MWireless users may be blocked from visiting known malicious websites. - eduroam
eduroam is available to students, faculty, staff, and alumni when visiting other universities and colleges, and should be configured through MSetup before visiting other institutions. Full access to U-M resources is available when using MWireless or eduroam. Available on the 2.4GHz & 5GHz frequencies. Note: When visiting other eduroam institutions, you are subject to their internet acceptable use policies. - MGuest
MGuest provides basic internet access for university guests. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to use MWireless as their primary network, as it is secure and encrypted. Access to certain university resources, including academic journals, is limited. Guests must agree to the university's terms of service and devices that cannot display a captive portal are not able to connect. - MSetup
MSetup helps you to register and connect your devices to the U-M wireless campus network. When connecting your home devices such as a laptop, phone or tablet you can configure your devices by using the MWireless or eduroam for network access.
