Note: The ITS Infrastructure maintenance windows are subject to change based on tasks identified for completion in a given week and decisions made at the ITS release meeting. The academic calendar may also affect maintenance windows. ITS observes annual production freezes to minimize IT changes during key periods of the academic calendar. The only maintenance tasks that occur during production freezes are emergencies.

Core Network Service Maintenance Windows
- Network Maintenance: Daily 5–8 a.m.
- Planned Maintenance: Sunday mornings 5–8 a.m.
- Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.
Data Center Service Maintenance Windows
- Planned Maintenance: Weekends 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
Note: Maintenance can begin at 7 p.m. on Fridays. - Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.
WiFi Access Maintenance Windows
- Planned Maintenance:
- Infrastructure: Mon-Sun 11 p.m. - 3 a.m.
- In building device configuration and maintenance: project-driven schedule per agreement with the unit IT and facilities staff.
- Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.
Merit Maintenance Windows
- Planned Maintenance:
- Core Devices: Saturdays and Sundays 1 a.m.–8 a.m.
- Metro Devices:
- Wednesdays 6 p.m.–6 a.m.
- Saturdays & Sundays 6 a.m.–10 a.m.
- Edge Devices: Wednesdays & Fridays 5 p.m.–7 a.m.
- Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.
