In response to the university’s approach to generative AI, the Emerging Tech Team was founded. Composed of 6 full-time employees and 6 part-time employees, the team is constantly working on new features and releases to U-M's genAI tools.

Enhancing Academic Advising with Maizey: A Custom AI Tool
The LSA Newnan Academic Advising Center sought to improve accessibility and efficiency in student advising services, particularly in light of challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the non-mandatory nature of advising. They aimed to offer an innovative solution that could provide immediate, reliable information to students while maintaining the option for personalized advice through human interaction.
