Three New Teams Joined A&O
Systems Operations, Data Science Practice, and Digital User Experience all joined Administration & Operations in FY24. These groups were responsible for new services for load testing, web content management, and a refreshed user interface for the Wolverine Access Gateway, alongside innovative technology integration and cybersecurity investments.
$2 million
in outperformed budget, thanks to the Finance team finalizing the FY2024 actuals at $157 million.
A&O HR also maintained a remarkable retention rate of over 91%, hired over 60 new staff members, and supported the retirements of 20 staff members.
A Better Work Place
The A&O Facilities team installed 12 electric vehicle charging stations at Arbor Lakes for ITS Infrastructure fleet and other U-M business vehicles, promoting sustainability.
Due to the efforts of the Digital User Experience team (DUX), ITS websites have a digital accessibility score of 93% compared to an average of 30% for other U-M Ann Arbor websites.
A&O diligently strove to enhance ITS' operational effectiveness by elevating creativity and innovation in FY2024, strengthen communication, working relationships, culture, and collaboration across our newly hybrid organization. With functions ranging from Facilities to Finance, Procurement to Organizational Development, and Human Resources to Communications (and beyond).
Putting the Operations in System Operations
A&O’s new Systems Operations and Data Science Practice teams had a seismic impact on the organization last year. These groups showed an unwavering commitment to strengthening the digital backbone of U-M, which has yielded unprecedented progress across several domains, including a new ITS Load Testing Service and the introduction of Wolverine Web Services.
Advancing Tech
GitHub Copilot was integrated with U-M GitHub to expedite the coding process using AI, ushering in a new phase of efficiency for university developers.
