AFS is automatically provisioned for students, faculty and staff affiliated with the College of Engineering. Other members of the U-M community who are eligible for the Standard Computing Services may use the AFS Self-Provisioning Tool to obtain AFS space.

Expectations
When using the AFS Service, it is the responsibility of the user to:
- Follow the guidelines for appropriate and responsible use as defined in section 601.7 of the University’s Standard Practice Guide.
- Engage in safe and legally compliant sharing of copyrighted materials as provided for on the ITS Digital Copy Compliance website.
- Safeguard sensitive data in accordance with ITS policies on data and access compliance.
Violations of the above guidelines can be reported to the ITS Service Center.
