ARC serves the research community at the university through a robust system of advanced computing resources, in order to facilitate new and more powerful approaches to research challenges across a wide range of disciplines. Often, researchers encounter limitations in computational power and technical barriers related to machine learning, data analytics, and other programming needs–as well as stringent compliance mandates often imposed by external sponsors. With the U-M Research Computing Package (UMRCP), ARC works to address these challenges by providing access to several HPC clusters, data storage, and secure computing environments. Additionally, ARC’s consulting services offer expert guidance to researchers, working with them to identify and implement the proper tools and techniques that will enhance their research projects.
