- Payroll Yearly Trend — high level trends for each compensation type for the current and past 12 months
- Payroll Five Year Trend — high level trends for each compensation type for the current and previous four fiscal years
- Pay Estimates Compared To Actual Pay — variance between what was expected to pay versus what actually paid
- Payroll Funding Dept/Appointing Dept Mismatch — all individuals where their funding and appointing departments do not match
Access Details
Who gets access?
Access to the Payroll folder of the M-Reports Mgmt Reports tab is auto-granted if the user has access to Internal Controls Employment Reports. To request access to the Payroll Reports, submit an OARS request for M-Reports ICEmployment. See the Access Details section on the Internal Controls Employment Reports page for further information.
What can users see?
Viewable department payroll data is based on the user’s Departmental Security Settings (DSS). The default DSS is the department group of the user’s Primary Appointing Department (PAD). The default can be narrowed or expanded, if necessary, when completing the OARS.

Data is stored in a data cube called Employment. The source for the cube is PeopleSoft (M-Pathways) tables. | Employment cube refreshes after each off-cycle, biweekly, and monthly payroll is complete; the time for this refresh is not fixed. For regular Thursday off-cycles the refresh usually finishes by 5:30 p.m. See U-M Payroll Office for a schedule of the university pay dates. |
