The primary goal of PrivaScope is to enable researchers to ask aggregate questions across multiple data sets:
- in an ethical, privacy-preserving manner.
- where no researcher has direct access to the data sets.
- in such a way that ITS can support queries in a scalable, supportable manner.
The technology will allow only for appropriate/aggregate questions (e.g., Does going to the gym for at least an hour a day impact grades?) and prevent inappropriate/individualized questions (e.g., What are your grades? How often do you go to the gym?). Questions will be reviewed by the PrivaScope Review Board.
A secondary goal is to allow researchers to ask aggregate questions across multiple data sets where no researcher has direct access to the data sets.
A tertiary goal is to enable ITS to support such queries in a scalable, supportable manner.
