What college are you attending, what year, and what is your major?
I just finished my sophomore year at the University of Michigan. I am double majoring in Computer Science and Cognitive Science.
What is your dream job after college?
I'm not completely set on what my dream job would be. I think I would like to do web development. As for where I would like to work for Facebook or Google. I am very interested in AI and machine learning, but I realize this is something I would have to seek a graduate degree for in order to do.
What has been your favorite part of the internship thus far?
I have enjoyed doing the development. More specifically, I enjoy having the freedom to try out different methods on my own and gain an understanding of their pros and cons. It is a great learning experience.
What skills are you hoping to gain or build by the end of this internship in August?
I would like to gain skills in leadership, communication, and project management.
What assumptions did you have coming into the internship program?
When I first came into the internship program last year, I had an assumption that I needed to already know how to do almost everything that I would need to do for the program. I quickly learned that the program is a learning experience where I gain the skills needed to do my project.
