U-M Pantheon Features

Units are able to choose from Basic, Performance, and Elite plans for their U-M Pantheon websites. These plans offer many features that may not be available through your current Pantheon contract or web hosting service.

All Plans Include:

  • Managed WordPress and Drupal websites for all university units, including research groups and student organizations.
  • Full self-service website dashboard to manage your WordPress or Drupal website hosting.
  • Direct 24x7 Pantheon Diamond support for all of your websites, plus additional support through ITS.
  • Website access to internal university services via a secure VPN tunnel back to campus.
  • Integration with Web Single Sign On, MCommunity, outgoing email, and other U-M IT services.
  • Enterprise-grade reliability, features, and support that meet the university’s complex business needs.
  • Pantheon WebOps Workflow provides Dev, Test, and Live environments so you can make changes and test your website without affecting your published website.
  • Automatic and self-service website backups and restores. If something goes wrong, you can revert to a previous version of your website with a few clicks.
  • Automatic website upgrades using Pantheon Autopilot and Visual Regression Testing
  • Update website files via either Git or SFTP.

Performance and Elite Plans Include:

  • New Relic Performance Monitoring allows you to monitor your website’s performance, identify places your website can be made faster, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Object Cache (Redis) speeds up your website by reusing the results of requests for web pages, database queries, and other operations.
  • Pantheon Search (Solr) provides more advanced search functionality for your website than WordPress and Drupal’s built-in search.
  • Overage Protection allows websites to handle one-time traffic spikes without incurring a higher bill.
  • WordPress Multisite and Drupal Multisite websites and support.
