Office 365 for Education

As part of the Microsoft Campus Agreement, Office 365 Education is available at no additional cost to U-M students, faculty, and staff. Learn more about the program at Microsoft Office 365 at U-M.

Please note that the ITS Service Center does not offer support for Office 365 Education. If you have questions or need assistance with Office 365, please visit Microsoft Office Online Support.

U-M students, faculty, and staff are responsible for maintaining university data in approved locations. OneDrive, the cloud storage space included with Office 365, is not approved to store university data or sensitive regulated data. If you wish to use Office 365 for university business, you may be able to save and access your files using your U-M Box account. Please make sure your data types are approved for storage in U-M Box. For more information about storage options available on campus, visit the Sensitive Data Guide on the Safe Computing website.

Microsoft Select Program

The Microsoft Select Agreement allows university departments to use the ITS Software Store to purchase Microsoft licenses with or without Software Assurance (Microsoft's terminology for maintenance) at a reduced price. All Software Assurance (SA) is purchased for the entire length of the Select Agreement and all SA purchased during this Agreement term will expire on November 30, 2020.
