Duo Retirement

As a part of the Wolverine Identity Program and our continuing efforts to transition to Okta, Duo will be retired and all systems integrated with Duo must transition to Okta by December 1, 2026.

Transition your applications to Okta

For technical leads: ITS has compiled a list of all known Duo integrations. Please review the list and ensure all applications have transitioned by the December 1 deadline. Note: the list will be updated throughout fall 2026 to track the remaining integrations that need to transition to Okta. See more details about transitioning your applications to Okta.

Most remaining integrations are Secure Shell (SSH) and Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) connections. A smaller number include proxy-based integrations, such as VPN, as well as select applications and units that use non-standard Duo integrations or Duo outside the university’s primary Duo instance.

How to transition to Okta

The Application Management and Provisioning (AMP) self-service migration tool is available to create the necessary secrets and configurations to transition your services and apps to Okta (campus network or VPN required to access AMP).
