ITS Emerging Technology
In FY25, U-M became the first institution in higher education to release a mobile AI app at no cost to their campus community. U-M's existing AI tools were also further enhanced with 12 updates and new tools over the year, including file upload in U-M GPT, conversational mode in U-M Maizey, and more.

ITS Teaching & Learning
Forged ahead with generative AI workshops and training courses — delivering over 80 workshops in 12 months with 1,689 participants.
Enterprise Application Services (EAS)
Automated the process for remote work agreements within M-Pathways, facilitating seamless collection and approval through self-service workflows and providing university-wide data on employee locations.
ITS Administration & Operations
Partnered with Google's Rapid Innovation team and several campus partners to create a Virtual Teaching Assistant pilot that will support 9,000 students in 72 courses across 26 institutions worldwide.
ITS Information Assurance
In a single day at U-M, 13,439 malicious emails are blocked by Area 1.
ITS Office of Privacy
Debuted a comprehensive, engaging, and accessible data protection training for IT professionals that has been adopted by all ITS staff and some unit IT departments.
ITS Infrastructure
Expanded the fiber optic network ensuring over half of the 216 buildings on campus now have at least 100 gigabit per second network connectivity, prioritizing buildings with imminent research needs.
ITS Advanced Research Computing
Responding to unprecedented demand, ARC made significant enhancements to their GPUs and hardware in FY25 to allow them to continue supporting innovative research in the field of AI development and applications.
Accessibility
Relaunched the campus digital accessibility website, with the goal of expanding access to digital assets to our entire U-M community.
ITS Support Services
Incorporated AI into the Service Center workflow to triage +40K customer requests more efficiently, identifying high-priority issues and routing tickets to staff experts.
ITS Project Management Office
Provided expertise to campus units including the Office of Enrollment Management, the Center for Campus Involvement, the President’s Office, the Office of National Labs, Michigan Medicine, the U-M School of Information, and the Office of New Student Programs.
