Elimination of the Deadline for Switching to New Quizzes
In a recent blog post, Canvas has lifted the deadline to switch to New Quizzes from Classic Quizzes. Canvas listened to customers feedback about switching from Classic to New quizzes, "Our goal is to facilitate a seamless transition to New Quizzes when customers are ready—not because of an arbitrary deadline." New Quizzes Continues Development
Faculty, instructors, and staff who use "Classic Quizzes" still have an option to select between New and Classic Quizzes.
Canvas has updated its Product Roadmap to provide updates, changes, and communications regarding New Quizzes. The Roadmap has replaced the original timeline which was announced in several of the communications and videos on this site.

New Quizzes Innovations
The addition of New Quizzes in Canvas brings several new features, including the ability to:
- Print assessments and save them as PDF files
- Quickly duplicate a question type
- Easily align questions to Canvas outcomes
- Edit item banks
- Persistent time adjustment accommodations
- Access additional quiz settings
- Waiting period in exam attempts
- Question shuffling
- Exam time increase for all students
- Take advantage of new question types
- Ordering — students place answers in a specific order
- Stimulus — students provided content with associated questions
- Categorization — students place answers in the correct categories
- Hot Spot — students identify an area in an uploaded image
Getting Started with New Quizzes
Faculty, instructors, and staff have a choice between New Quizzes and Classic Quizzes each time they create a quiz in Canvas.
