Dear colleagues,
Thank you for taking time to participate in the recent survey regarding eResearch systems at U-M. Your feedback is invaluable as we plan for the replacement of our current platform, a vital step in continuing to support the university’s research endeavors.
We understand the demands on your time. Your willingness to provide insights and share your experiences is greatly appreciated and critical in ensuring a successful transition to new systems by 2031. Please know that your responses will remain confidential and will continue to help inform our recommendation process.
While reviewing the feedback gathered as part of our ongoing discovery and planning effort, we heard the following:
- You emphasized the importance of intuitive design while minimizing clicks and redundancy. In response, we will be prioritizing a user-centered design approach as we prepare to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) and evaluate market offerings.
- You expressed concerns about the need for clear, accessible training tailored to different user roles and the importance of ongoing support during the transition. As a result, we are committed to ensuring that provided training options address your needs. Our goal is to develop an approach that empowers every user group, and we will be seeking input as we strive to create a supportive and seamless experience.
- You noted the importance of a unified system with robust integration, streamlined workflows, comprehensive data integrity, and a modern user interface. In response, we will prioritize seamless integration and system modernization while engaging all impacted groups throughout the process.
- You highlighted the need for thorough change management, clear communication, and a focus on addressing specific pain points. Accordingly, we are committed to transparent communication and proactive problem-solving to ensure a smooth and successful transition for all users.
