Units can review their current off-campus connections charges in the Service Request System in the Summary of Charges report.
Rates
Fiber
The following lease rates apply to “dark fiber” access. Note: these rates do not include any other costs associated with connectivity to the University Network, such as Engineering, Materials, and Labor, etc.
Item | Billing Code | Monthly Charge | Activation Charge |
---|---|---|---|
Fiber Strand | FM-FIBER | $0.01/foot | Time and Materials |
Note: Fiber is designed and installed in buildings without current connections on a time and materials basis. Your ITS Infrastructure Project Manager can prepare an estimate of the work required.
Fixed Wireless
Description | Speed | Distance | Device Code | Billing Code | Monthly Charge |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Fast Ethernet | 100 Mbps | Up to 1 mile | FE60U | DC-100M-FW5 | $561.00 |
Gigabit Ethernet | 100/1000 Mbps | Up to 1 mile | AR60 | DC-1000M-FW5 | $749.20 |
Fast Ethernet | 100 Mbps | Up to 5 miles | FE80U | DC-100LR-FW5 | $796.90 |
Note: Fixed wireless is designed and installed on a time & materials basis. Labor and materials costs to install the two fixed wireless radios include:
- Installations
- Installed fiber and power cables
- Labor for engineering, installation, and testing
Labor and materials costs to install the networking components and power protection at the off campus location include:
- Ethernet switches
- Phones
- WiFi (Wireless Access Points)
- Uninterrupted Power Supply Units, if appropriate
Your ITS Infrastructure Project Manager can prepare an estimate of the work required.

Circuit routed out of building, 4 Wire: 2 Dry Copper Pair | Time and Materials | DC-CO4W | $3.65 |
Note: DS-1 and DS-3 connections are generally being phased out as an off-campus connection option going forward. Your ITS Infrastructure Project Manager can work with network engineers to determine if this would be an appropriate connection in the future or if you’d like to transition an older DS-1 or DS-3 connection to one of the other options.
