Michigan App Features

New features are added to the Michigan App with each update. Download the app and see what else you can do!

  • Home Tab
    • Announcements — Receive alerts about important events and deadlines. 
    • Class Schedule — View your class schedule for currently enrolled terms. Grades coming soon!
    • Academic Calendar — View upcoming academic calendar events, like fall and spring breaks, final exam days, and commencement.
    • Happening @ Michigan — Find interesting events happening on or near campus.
    • News — Read featured articles and videos from the University Record and Michigan News.
  • M Life Tab
    • Dining — Scope out your dining options on campus, view hours and menu information, and save your favorite dining locations.
    • Rec Sports — View Rec Sports hours, location, and capacity information.
  • Campus Tab
    • Bus Stops — Find bus stops and routes near you and estimate your bus arrival times.
    • Parking Lots — Find parking lots near you or around campus, view enforcement hours, and permit requirements.
    • Crime Alerts — View crime alerts from DPSS.
    • After Hours Transit — Check out your after-hours transit options for late night rides.
  • Search Tab
    • Building Search — Search for buildings on campus by name or acronym, get building directions, or additional building info.
    • Person Search — Search for faculty, students, staff, and other members of the U-M community. Powered by MCommunity.
  • Emergency Alerts
    • In order to receive emergency alerts consistently via the Michigan App, the following actions are required by users: 
      • The Michigan App must be installed on the phone.
      • The user must open up the app, and touch to allow the app to send push notifications to them.
      • The user must regularly open up the app, to allow it to register their device with their latest operating system version or patch.
  • Grade Alerts
    • In order to receive grade alerts via the Michigan App, the following actions are required by users: 
      • The Michigan App must be installed on the phone.
      • The user must open up the app, and touch to allow the app to send push notifications to them.
      • The user must log in to the app (via the Home or Settings tab) at least once.
      • The user must regularly open up the app, to allow it to register their device with their latest operating system version or patch.
