Windows Platform as a Service provides a cost-effective Windows management solution that enables units to deliver consistently configured workstations in a zero or light-touch operational model.
The service provides the benefit of scale with software availability and toolset without requiring platform engineers or infrastructure. The service provides the foundational support for units to meet SPG policy for information technology security.
Windows platform as a service is available to units with local IT staff on all three University of Michigan campuses. Units must meet the following requirements:
- Federated to the Ann Arbor campus Active Directory forest.
- Have the appropriate internet backbone bandwidth to the Ann Arbor campus to support the large amount of data associated with workstation deployments.
The service is included in MiWorkspace and is administered by ITS.
