Globus is a robust, cloud-based, file transfer service designed to move many large files, ranging from 10s of GBs to 10s of TBs. The service allows the transfer of data between different storage systems, lab computers, and personal desktops/laptops.
In Advanced Research Computing (ARC) at U-M, users utilize Globus to move files in and out of the research storage environments (Turbo, Locker, Data Den), in and out of the high performance computing environments (Great Lakes, Armis2, Lighthouse), and between these environments.
