Optimize the Optery Service

To receive the maximum benefit from Optery, it is recommended that individuals provide the requested essential personal information, grant a Limited Power of Attorney, and activate the Expanded Reach feature.

Provide Basic Personal Information

An individual utilizing the service will need to provide some basic personal information. Optery keeps this personal data secure. Having more information gives Optery the best chance of finding an individual’s data on the internet, and crafting appropriate takedown requests.

Basic Information includes:

  • First, Middle, and Last Name
  • Birth Day and Month
  • Gender
  • Name variations or maiden name
  • Emails, Phones & Addresses
  • Add additional emails (such as personal)
  • Phone numbers
  • Current and previous addresses
  • Names of relatives and housemates

Some additional information might include the individual’s LinkedIn URL and previous employers.

Grant Limited Power of Attorney

Optery offers the option for individuals using the service to grant them a limited power of attorney (LPOA). This is highly recommended as it allows Optery to request the removal of information from data brokers' sites that require an LPOA.

Activate Expanded Reach

The Optery Expanded Reach feature provides data removal coverage for data brokers who do not yet meet Optery’s rigorous removal verification standards, but still provide a viable opt out mechanism. Data brokers covered by Expanded Reach typically do not post and sell information publicly, but instead do so privately, behind the scenes, so it can be more difficult to provide verifiable opt out statuses. We highly recommend activating this feature.

NOTE: Expanded Reach requires you to grant Limited Power of Attorney.
