U-M Software Directory FAQ

What if I don’t see a software title I’m looking for?
  • Check the spelling of any search terms.
  • Try adjusting your filters to broaden your search.
  • Not all units list their software in the directory. You may wish to review these lists of Other Software on Campus or inquire with your Unit IT.
Should I plan to become a partner?

If you’re interested in partnering in the future to add your unit’s software titles to the directory, contact [email protected].

How do I get software application support?

The U-M Software Directory is a library rather than a place to get application support, but here are some ways you can identify getting the support you need:

  • For titles listed in the directory, refer to the Get Support section on the right side of the title listing with suggestions about where you can look for help for those titles.
  • If you are on a MiWorkspace machine, contact the ITS Service Center.
  • If you are working on a Campus Computing (“Sites”) machine, refer to Campus Computing support information.
  • If you are on a personal device, check the application vendor’s site for where to get support, knowledge articles, etc.
What if I have questions about availability, licensing, access, etc. for a directory title?

Refer to the Get Support information on an individual software title page.

What if I see something about a title in the directory that seems incorrect or out of date?
How do I get assistance with the U-M Software Directory?
Will the Software Directory replace any existing services?

No, the Software Directory is intended to supplement existing services, such as the Managed Software Center or locally operated directories of unit software, and make it easier for students, faculty, and staff to find them.
