Box has stated that Box Sync and Box Drive should not be used together. This caused many on campus to avoid moving from Sync to Drive. To help ease the switch, Drive now automatically uninstalls Sync and then cleans up the remaining Sync content. This reduces the content footprint on devices by keeping files in Box and allowing you to work with them through Mac Finder and Windows Explorer.
Anyone already using Drive who wants to uninstall Sync should update to Drive version 2.4 or later. Anyone new to Drive and who needs Sync uninstalled just needs to install Drive and log in. It is available in Box Apps. For devices managed by MiWorkspace, the MiWorkspace team will manage this switch, including communications. Learn more about Box Drive.
