Reserve an Hour for Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 Update

This information was emailed on January 28, 2016, to all faculty and staff who have a MiWorkspace Mac device running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.1.

The most current OS X El Capitan update (version 10.11.3) will be available in the Managed Software Center after 6:30 p.m. today, January 28. If you have a MiWorkspace Mac running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.1, please reserve about an hour for the update to install on your device.

At a time that is convenient to you, please complete the following steps to install the update. Your computer will be unavailable during the update process.

  1. Plug in your computer to a power source (required) and connect your computer to a wired internet network (recommended). Do not power off or unplug your computer during the upgrade process.
  2. Launch the Managed Software Center from the MiWorkspace icon in the menu bar. Click the Updates button and select Update All.
  3. You will be prompted to log out to start the update process. This step may take up to an hour. The status bar in the Managed Software Center may not reflect the update's actual progress. The computer will reboot when the update is complete.
