LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) is a leading online-learning platform that helps anyone learn business, software, technology, and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals. Members have access to the LinkedIn Learning video library of over 15,000 engaging, top-quality, on-demand courses taught by recognized industry experts. Members can also connect their LinkedIn Learning history to their LinkedIn account for a more personalized learning experience.
Eligibility
Active students, regular staff (including temporary employees), and faculty on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses and at Michigan Medicine are automatically granted access.
Access LinkedIn Learning
To get started with LinkedIn Learning, you will need to activate your account:
- Visit linkedinlearning.umich.edu
- You will be directed to the U-M Weblogin where you’ll enter your UMICH uniqname and password. You may need to use Duo for two-factor authentication.
- Optional: Enter your LinkedIn account login and password to connect your learning history to your LinkedIn account.

Faculty Can Use LinkedIn Learning in Their Courses
LinkedIn Learning (LiL) can be used as a complement to your current curriculum. There are many options already available to recommend to your students, or you can curate custom collections to fit your specific needs.
LinkedIn Learning can be integrated with Canvas and Blackboard courses by setting up an External Tool. See the Canvas and Blackboard Integrations section on the University Human Resources (UHR) page for directions.
Faculty can specify whether modules should be done sequentially or in any order, and grades are pass/fail. See Creating Collections section on the UHR website.
