Power BI Free is a cloud-based business intelligence and analytics application.
Migration Path
ITS is not able to access Power BI data. There is no direct migration path for Power BI across platforms, however individuals are able to export some data.
Actions Needed BEFORE June 28
If you are using the desktop version of PowerBI Free (available for Windows only), you can export your reports to your desktop.
Impacts & Actions Needed After Migration
Custom Excel Reports pulling data from SharePoint lists and/or Microsoft Project Data connections will stop connecting after the migration. Any published reports will continue to be visible, but because updates to the base report will be saved to the new platform, those changes will not be reflected in the published reports. These connections will need to be manually re-created or edited in order to refresh the data in Power BI:
- After migration, sign out and sign back into Power BI Desktop, and then import the exported files.
- After migration, re-publish your report and update any webpage embeds or links.
