What We Do
The Tech Repair Service provides low-cost assistance to U-M individuals and departments at two full-service locations.
We offer walk-in maintenance services for most brands of computers:
- Virus remediation and software troubleshooting
- Software installations, including operating system upgrades
- Hardware upgrades and installations (RAM, hard drives, network cards and more)
- Data transfers and data recovery
We can provide hardware repair and support for both personally owned and University owned computers and computer equipment.
Warranty repairs for Apple (including iPad and iPhone), Dell, HP, Microsoft Surface, and devices covered by Safeware can usually be done at no cost to you. We can also perform out-of-warranty repairs on these and other major brands. See our repair page for more information.
Need help troubleshooting common issues like wireless access or installing anti-virus software? We offer drop-in consulting services at both our Central Campus and North Campus locations. In many cases, connectivity and software issues can be resolved at these locations at no cost.
