Using the UMVPN - Only U-M Traffic profile will send only your traffic destined for University of Michigan IP addresses (e.g., university home page) through the VPN tunnel. Traffic destined for non-university addresses (e.g., Google) will be routed through your Internet Service Provider as normal.
Using the UMVPN - All Traffic profile sends all of your traffic through the VPN tunnel, regardless whether it is destined for a university or non-university IP address.
Connecting with the UMVPN - All Traffic or UMVPN - Only U-M Traffic profiles will give you a U-M IP address to access university services. The IP address issued will be between 220.127.116.11–18.104.22.168. In CIDR notation, this range corresponds to 22.214.171.124/21
Connecting with the UMVPN - Alumni-Retiree profile provides a secure connection through the U-M backbone, but this connection does not provide access to internal U-M networks or library resources (e.g. journals). The IP address assigned will be in the 126.96.36.199/23 range.
