ISDN lines to be discontinued

4/10/2018

ITS is working with individual units on campus to discontinue the ISDN line service. Data show that none of the 47 ISDN lines in existence are in use. Traditionally, ISDN lines were used for teleconferencing. In lieu of ISDN lines, we believe each unit is likely using BlueJeans or a similar service. If the unit must retain their ISDN line(s) for a unique reason, they may work with an ITS Infrastructure Project Manager to devise a solution.

Business reasons behind the change:

  • The university’s future voice environment will not support ISDN lines.
  • Individual units are likely already using a teleconferencing service.
