The Michigan Insights oN Demand Program was established to change the landscape on how the U-M community accesses and uses data to make data-informed decisions. The program hopes to position the university to achieve the Data-informed Decision Making Ecosystem Vision at U-M that was created in partnership with the vice president for information technology and chief information officer.
The MIND program will work to achieve a future state where:
- Students, faculty, and staff have access to real-time and authoritative data via secure, role-based access.
- Data consumers are focused on research, analysis, and decision-making, and not on databases, data architecture, and becoming experts in complex tools.
- ITS provides services, technologies, federated data governance, and support for data informed decision making capabilities that the university community value both now and in a rapidly evolving future.
- Supporting Data-Informed Decision Making is an ITS Area of Focus.
