E-signature Service - SignNow

The E-signature Service provides a secure application (i.e., SignNow) that enables users to electronically prepare and send University business documents for the purpose of requesting and obtaining digital signatures and other information on those documents.  Users can upload various types of document formats (e.g., Google, Word, Excel, pdf), then prepare the uploaded document for recipients to enter any necessary information (e.g., name, date, other information, initials).  

Eligibility and Cost

The E-signature Service - SignNow application is available for use by U-M staff, faculty, researchers, and students associated with all University of Michigan campuses (i.e., Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Flint and Michigan Medicine). 

An enterprise agreement has been established whereby all accounts are set to use a @umich.edu email address (i.e., if you register to use this tool, your login account is set to your @umich.edu email address).

At the present time (i.e., plans include FY20 and FY21), ITS is covering the charge of this service for campus users; however, in the future, there may be a per document charge, so an approved shortcode is required in order to obtain access to the application.

The SignNow application can be used for creating/sending various kinds of University business-related documents that require signatures and other information; however, the system cannot be used to capture any protected health information (PHI).  Each user of the system is responsible for ensuring that use of this service complies with laws, regulations, and policies where applicable (reference the Sensitive Data Guide for E-signature). 

Please Do Not Request a Logo Change

If you request a change to the logo in your SignNow user profile, it changes the logo for all U-M users of the service. SignNow is working on a service modication to address this issue.
