Preparing Assets for DAC

Please review the information below as it provides guidance and best practices for preparing digital assets for upload to the DAC system.

There are several important steps that need to be taken before digital assets are ready to be uploaded to the DAC system. These steps can be done anytime and well in advance of when your unit onboards to using the DAC service. See detailed instructions for preparing your assets to be uploaded.

Asset Filenames Must be Unique

Filename is the unique identifier in the DAC system. Asset files should be renamed to follow the filename standards before upload.

Metadata is used to further define each asset and is used for finding assets within the application. Primary metadata fields are available on each asset.  The following fields are required:

  • School/College/Unit that the asset belongs to
  • Location that the asset is related to
  • Usage Requirements of the asset
