The Digital Asset Collaborative at U-M service provides an enterprise tool and framework to organize, manage, and collaborate on final and approved digital assets used in marketing and communications.
The following types of digital assets are currently supported: images, graphics, photos, branding materials, posters, brochures, templates.
Video and Audio files are planned to be supported in the future along with academic (instructional and research) business needs. See more information about planned features, benefits, and future phases.
The enterprise digital asset management tool is provided by a vendor, Widen, and administered by ITS. The U-M agreement with Widen provides for:
- Enterprise licensing for unlimited users from all schools, colleges, units, and campuses including Dearborn, Flint, Michigan Medicine, and Sponsored Affiliate Organizations of the university.
- Base amount of asset storage capacity (160 TB). Additional storage capacity may be required as adoption of the DAC service grows. Costs and unit billing expectations for additional storage capacity needs are TBD.
- 100 add-on licenses for CI Hub that allows users of Adobe Creative Cloud applications to access and use assets from DAC directly.
