The university will retire the Exchange email and calendar service this October. ITS is partnering with the College of Engineering and the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts to migrate accounts to U-M Google Mail with Virtru encryption, which is approved to meet the strict criteria governing sensitive research data. If you have an account, a member of your unit IT group will contact you soon to discuss the change in more detail and schedule your migration.
The ITS Exchange Service provides a secure on-campus email and calendaring service appropriate for sensitive research data. All other campus email needs are met by the campus U-M Google service or the Michigan Medicine Exchange Service for users with electronic protected health data (ePHI data). It can also be used to:
- Maintain and share calendars
- Track of and share tasks
- Create and share notes
- Maintain and share contacts
