Contest Rules


Current U-M students, faculty and staff are eligible to participate, including temporary employees. Teams comprised of eligible members are encouraged, although only one person per team may submit the application.


If submitting in the Academics, Social/​Campus Life, or Entertainment/​Games category, your entry needs to include a 2-minute (max) video that demonstrates a working prototype of your app.

If submitting in the Teaching & Learning Idea category, your entry should be a 2-minute (max) video describing your idea.

You may submit as many apps as you choose for iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch), Android, Windows Phone 7 or other mobile Web apps. A panel of experts from U-M and challenge sponsors—including Apple—will judge your app based on creativity, usability and utility.
