Meet Margaret Ehinger

My name is Margaret Ehinger, and I am interning with the Enterprise Architecture team in ITS. I just completed freshman year in Computer Science at U-M's College of Engineering.

My department project is to begin rolling out MESA documents, which stands for Michigan Enterprise Strategic Assessments. These are annually updated documents that outline the current and desired future state of a product or service area. Working on this has been a lot of fun. I get to meet with people across ITS to discuss their subject areas and strategic plans.

My cohort project involves enhancing UM-developed app ScheduleMe, which is an easy and convenient way for students to set up their classes. A fellow intern, Robert Dunne, and I are working with undergraduate Prateek Sachdeva to assist in making improvements and gaining greater awareness of this service. Our hope is that in the future there will also be a capability that allows users who need it (deaf, broken arm, visual impairment, etc.) to sign up to get notes taken for them.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading (especially Jane Austen and Henry Longfellow) and language learning. I hope to someday work in Assistive Technology as someone who connects people with special needs to the technology that will enable them to reach their full potential.
