My name is Katelyn Laird, and I interned with the Service Management team during the summer of 2016. I'm currently a senior at U-M's School of Information and College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. I'm dual-majoring in information analysis and psychology.
For my department project, I helped operationalize the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This objective included the ability to perform accurate impact analysis when a significant incident or change occurs. Throughout the summer, I worked on the impact analysis of the eResearch Proposal Management service. By confirming and ensuring the accuracy of the underlying infrastructure involved and improving the reliability of analyzing the impact of a change, we created a reproducible process that can expand to other services.
