My name is Jacob Rickerd, and I interned with the Information and Infrastructure Assurance team this summer. I'm currently a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University majoring in information assurance.
My internship was divided into three parts this summer. I helped out with PCI DSS compliance and mapping out the process for the first month. For the second month I helped out with reviewing and rewriting the university's security policy. During the third month I assisted with security architecture related tasks and spent time in several other areas.
Outside of work and school, I enjoy spending time with friends, going disc golfing, programming, and playing the guitar. After I graduate from EMU, I hope to go directly to work in the security field.
