ITS Infrastructure Maintenance Windows

Note: The ITS Infrastructure Maintenance windows are subject to change based on tasks identified for completion in a given week and decisions made at the ITS release meeting. The academic calendar may also affect maintenance windows. ITS observes annual production freezes to minimize IT changes during key periods of the academic calendar. The only maintenance tasks that occur during production freezes are emergencies.

Core Network Service Maintenance Windows

  • Network Maintenance: Daily from 5 a.m.–8 a.m.
  • Planned Maintenance: Sunday mornings between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m.
  • Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.

Data Center Service Maintenance Windows

  • Planned Maintenance: Weekends from 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
    Note: Maintenance can begin at 7 p.m. on Fridays.
  • Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.

  • Planned Maintenance:
    • Core Devices: Saturdays & Sundays from 1 a.m.–8 a.m.
    • Metro Devices:
      • Wednesdays from 6 p.m.–6 a.m.
      • Saturdays & Sundays from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.

    • Metro Devices:
      • Wednesdays from 6 p.m.–6 a.m.

    • Edge Devices: Wednesdays & Fridays from 5 p.m.–7 a.m.
  • Emergency Maintenance: Can occur at any time.
