Television Options for On-campus Residents

Television Resources for Residence Halls and Northwood Apartments

Television service will not be provided in university residence hall rooms or Northwood apartments as of July 10, 2017. Cable television will be provided in residence hall lounges, Northwood community centers, and the Munger Graduate Residences. Residents can use the campus data networks to connect to video services of their choice.

Philo Internet Television

The university operates a free Internet television service at umich.philo.com with 25 local broadcast channels including the major broadcast networks. See our Philo website and channel lineup for more information.

Xfinity on Campus

Residents can log in at xfinityoncampus.com using their university uniqname and subscribe to a full set of cable channels and optional premium and international channels. Commercial On-Demand Services

Cable or Satellite television are not an option: Because of facility limitations, residents are not able to order cable service to their apartment or room through cable providers. They are also not about to subscribe to satellite providers, as these require outdoor antennas which may not be installed on residence buildings.
